Brecken Hancock Wins Trillium Book Award for Poetry

Congratulations to Brecken Hancock, a former Fiddlehead poetry editor and past contributor, on her being awarded the Trillium Book Award for Poetry last night for her book Broom Broom!

M. Travis Lane launches Crossover on June 11 and other Fiddlehead news

All are invited to the launch of M. Travis Lane's new book of poetry, Crossover. which will take place next Thursday, June 11 at 7 pm. Lane is well known to readers of The Fiddlehead. Last summer, we featured a retrospective of her work, and her poems and reviews regularly appear in our pages. The event is taking place at Westminster Books in downtown Fredericton (445 King St.), and is free and open to the public.


In other Fiddlehead news, editorial board member Sherry Coffey's essay "15 Ways to Be Alone" has just been published in subTerrain magazine. The essay was an honourable mention in subTerrain's 2014 Lush Triumphant Literary Awards.

And fiction editor Mark Jarman has a new micro-fiction "The Sniper"over at Numéro Cinq. Also, at the same site, his latest book has a new review by Lee D. Thompson
